Why Homestead VM request time can be slow after while?

Hello,

I use Homestead mainly to develop Laravel and WordPress themes etc. It's great, but recently I experience slowdowns, when I try to refresh page (even for about 8 seconds).

I noticed this pattern:

1. Run VM using "vagrant up".
2. Open webpage (usually slow server response time for the first time).
3. Refresh once again and it's fast, even when I do this multiple times, like it should.
4. Do some coding (without refreshing page), maybe for about half a minute.
5. Refresh page and server response time is slow. Then I return to step 3 and so on...

Usually I try to solve this kind of problems by myself, but I really can't find the solution. This is frustrating, because waiting long for refresh is waste of time and not productive. Did anyone had this or similar problem or maybe some tips to check etc.?

Machine: MacBook Pro 16' from 2019, macOS Monterey 12.6.1. Homestead VM: 4 GB RAM, 8 CPU's, Homestead 12.1.0, VirtualBox 7.0.4, Vagrant 2.3.4.
