Hi, I was wondering, I'm familiar with tools like frontend/static site building GUI applications like Adobe Muse, Dreamweaver, etc.
However, I was wondering if there's any such GUI application for building backend applications and/or APIs? I thought it might be a really cool idea for a person like me, coming from an illustrative/design background. I'm definitely learning more in regard to writing code - Jeff's OOP series, etc. have been helping a lot - thought I'm thinking it might be nice to be able to visually create a backend with Laravel from a visual standpoint more so instead of trying work it out simply writing code.
I could imagine some limitations with that type of approach, though - such as poorly generated code, or that maybe the fine-tuning that you get by writing code wouldn't be as feasible using a GUI.
However, using similar concepts behind administration packages for managing users/permissions/roles or other types of management systems, it seems that a UI/GUI for building out backend APIs/applications could be pretty interesting.
Anyway, just putting this out there.
