Seeking advice as a beginner

Hello, anyone who's seeing this post. I am someone who's just taking his first steps in the world of Web Development as a programmer. As I encountered and got through the first course on Laravel (30 days of Laravel was just brilliant), I have a feeling that THIS IS IT. It just clicked. I've tried picking up something many times before but nothing has felt as natural. So I want to continue to learn more and keep learning about this world of Laravel. But I think I'm kind of lost right now after I'm done with the course. I don't know what's next. I would appreciate any guidelines from my seniors who're well versed in the world as to where a beginner can jump to next after the 30 days of Laravel course.

I'm kind of embarrassed about admitting this but as much as I want to, I can't afford to (or rather I just don't have any means to pay for the subscription of the platform where I'm from as I don't own a dollar card, they are not very common here and international payment is really difficult without one). But I promise to come back some time in the future and be a Lifer. I think this is my immediate dream for now. I would appreciate any advice as to where I can get free up to date resource for learning Laravel. I don't want to hold off my learning until when I have a means to pay for a subscription.

Every year there are Black Friday offers on laracasts that will bring the subscription costs down, especially if you are intending to get life memberships

In the meantime, there are a reasonable amount of free resources on laracasts that you can access whilst working out how to get access to a subscription.

See https://laracasts.com/path

@automica Thank you for the heads-up. Will try my best to get a means to pay by then. I did refer to the path recommended by Laracast. In fact I started out there but unfortunately the next course on the series (MySQL Database Design) was paywalled.

I'm thinking of Jumping into frontend side of things for now diving into Vue and Javascript and learning more about tests as I found a free course on PEST, before diving into database designing.

Really appreciate your reply. Thank you.

@corduroypjs if you are learning, then all info is relevant. If you go into a paid development role, then it's very likely you'll be touching FE and BE especially if you are working for a small business.

Getting your head around how to build test cases as early in your career as you can is an essential and interchangeable skill that will help you write code better.

For mysql and DB design, this https://www.mysqltutorial.org should be helpful.
