Looking for some developers/co-owner for a community site

UPDATE: We have a team of 8 at the moment but you can still send an email to ask for a place on the team.

Hi,

First off, this won't be paid (for now) because I'm not sure how well or far it's going to go but I have the domains, servers and some ideas about a "community site" for code. Mostly evolving around social coding, chatting, job board and Q&As.

It will be using Laravel (of course). You will need to know Git and be able to work in a team (branches and merging), be able to run the code on a VM easily, good English speaking skills and willing to help the site grow for the long run (important).

The links

I have a private GitLab install for git and GitLab CI for test builds. Have large servers ready to serve the site. I'm a big fan of communities so I really want to get this out there and working with it being built by developers like yourself.

Contact us via the email on our site's footer. Thanks!

You posted about this community site some time ago and it sounds great!

Do you plan on making it something like The Stack Exchange? Having different communities under one roof? (example: Laravel / PHP Community, Front End / Javascript Community and a few more in the future)

Yeah I can't remember what I said but I remember posting about the LaraSocial one. Thought I'd try again.

Pretty much, there will be different sections and types of code help. Forum, Q&As, demos/examples, chat etc (haven't decided what platform, could be custom). Yes, with the name I can use it for anything social related. Was planning to do different branches of it to include all sorts of languages.

There will be advertising availabilities (non-intrusive), job postings, commercial help and anything else to help.

@bashy You can count me in. But I might not be able to give full time as I am already working on a project. But I will guarantee to help in anyway :)

@SachinAgarwal I am working full time anyway so any time is appreciated! There's no time frame but launch 2016 would be good. Can get the base of it done though.

@bashy : Cool! i like the 'community made' approach, makes sense for a community website.

I'm already too much involved elsewhere(s) to offer my help right now, would have other way.

Wish you best of luck!

@bashy : I would be interested in helping out with this. I've been looking for a project to get involved with in my spare-time. You can count me in as well

Great, looks like we got 6 people so far. For now that's fine but I will let people know if we're looking for anyone else.

You can still contact me if you're interested, we could get another person or so.

@pmall Well, send an email if you have any questions! I even had one from @vincej about a ideas for the site.

@ludo237 Best to send an email so I have it available to me when I need it. We're getting settled so once we are, we'll take a review on if we need anyone else! Thanks.

Well of course you can count me in :P I will send you the email as soon as I get home ;) Good idea @bashy We should do this more often, working together on projects!

@blackbird and after this project proves we can work successfully as a team, lets go for the glory - quit our jobs, start a company and maybe some day we'll have an office we could work together in and have a beer or two after the work time's over haha! :P

But yeah, I agree it would be cool to work together with people from Laracasts forums. Jeffrey really brought together dozens and dozens of smart and talented people. And one of the most beautiful things there are is hanging out with people that share your interests. :)
