Building a Telegram bot, need good sources

I have the same question, three years later. Have been looking at https://github.com/php-telegram-bot/core. There are a number of ways and packages. Is there a recommendation for use in Laravel? Python has async functions which would appear to match the operational characteristics of messaging. What can PHP do to respond to this requirement?
