Best Practices for Handling Large Datasets in Laravel

Hey everyone,

I've been working on a Laravel project that requires handling large datasets (millions of records), and I've run into some performance issues, especially when it comes to querying and displaying data. I'm using Laravel 10 with MySQL.

I've already implemented some optimizations like:

Using chunk() instead of get() for large query results. Leveraging Eloquent eager loading to reduce N+1 query problems. Adding proper indexes to my database tables. But I feel there’s more I could do. Does anyone have any advice or best practices for optimizing the performance when dealing with large datasets? Any insights on:

Using caching strategies like Redis or Laravel cache for large queries. Optimizing pagination for large datasets. Efficient ways to handle imports and exports of large data (e.g., using Laravel Excel). I'd love to hear your experiences or any other tools/packages that could help with this. Thanks in advance!

Cheers! Hilarious Neckbeard
