Laravel forge & Amazon Provider... ?

I recently got into laravel forge and configured an IAM user on my aws dashboard. Gave it full admin access to ec2 at first, then tried with full admin global access in a desparate attempt at testing if that was the issue, seemed not to be... but... well...

Forge is trying to connect to the ubuntu aws ec2 instance using "root" as user. This apparently doesn't work?

This is a tweet I made showing a screenshot I get for the error msg. It mentions DigitalOcean, even though I am using Amazon. That definitely is not working.... at all... it does create an ec2 instance, but it stays headless and inaccesible as I have no way to assign ssh keys to it.

Update:

This server that was giving me errors, was based on Virginia when creating it. I saw on another thread a user mentioning something along the lines of "Virginia gave errors and when I changed to another location it worked" ( <- very paraphrased) Anyhow, I went on and chose Oregon instead and it ended up provisioning a new server.

It worked fine, gave me errors mentioning digital ocean when using amazon, gave me errors when mounting a server nearest to my location, but it all worked well as soon as I jumpt someplace else.... grass is greener on the other side it seems lol
