Hi All I know a lot of people have threads about security and forge but i've not be able to find a direct answer. Please feel free to point me to the forum if i've missed the answer.
Does forge deploy a production ready configuration? and are updates to the server automatically applied?. I don't expect to get a fully managed server for 10 bucks but I just want to understand what is actually happening so I can fill in the gaps.
i'm a dev not a sys admin, so just trying to understand what gaps are left when i'm deploying with forge.

Yes it is production ready and no it doesn't do updates automatically.
Forge is a provisioning service. It sets up servers for you really quickly. If you only need one server for some hobby/personal sites and that's it, it's hard to justify the cost.
If you regularly create servers then it'll be worth it to save you lots of time.
