Troubleshooting server connection issues?

Is there a way to get any more information about why a server connection is failing? I'm trying to use Envoyer with my AWS-hosted Laravel app, and it's hard to track down the root of my connection issues when all I get is a red dot that says "Failed". Are there logs somewhere I'm not aware of? Even seeing the exact ssh command being run would be helpful.
