Laravel Spark- Elixir

Running Laravel Spark v. 3.0

package.json file has this dependency:

"laravel-elixir": "^6.0.0-11",

However, when I not run "npm install" I get the error message "No valid versions available for gulp-batch"

I do see gulp-batch used in Elixir, but the npm page for this package looks like it's broken: https://www.npmjs.com/package/gulp-batch

Could that be the cause? What options do I have here.
