Laravel Mix as a global NodeJS install

@JeffreyWay - Thank you for the brilliant videos and resources.

This may be a silly question...

Is it possible to install the Laravel Mix modules to the NodeJS' global directory so there is no need to install it for every project and allow Laravel Mix to be used on non-Laravel frameworks?
