Issues with Upgrading MySQL 5.7 to 8 due to dangling FULLTEXT indexes

I know this isn't specifically Laravel-related, but we are attempting to upgrade our MySQL server from 5.7 to 8. When attempting the upgrade, we are receiving errors about dangling FULLTEXT indexes.

I've written a Laravel job to loop through all of our databases and apply suggested fixes, but nothing is working. I wrote a Stackoverflow question and I'm hoping to get more eyes on it.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be greatly appreciative!
