@HighSolutions You can add 'extensions' to the resolve section in vite.config.js. I also added the '@' alias.

resolve: {
        alias:{
            '@' : path.resolve(__dirname, './resources/js')
        },
        extensions: ['.vue', '.js']
    },

Now I can import components like so,

import Nav from '@/Shared/Nav';

The '@' is overkill in the current situation since it is only replacing '..' but it could be handly replacing something like '../../../' if our future file structure makes it necessary so I like to use it.

I vaguely remember seeing something a while back about this resolving extensions not existing for vite and was planned to be removed or at least discouraged with webpack in favor of explicitly adding the extension in imports. Or something like that. I don't remember. Guess they decided to leave it in. I'd do some research to see if this is going to stay before using it in a production app. Maybe the voices in my head are just making this up.
