@thetoad01 Thanks for this. I've had the same issue and this fixed it, but I have no idea how Jeff's solution works. The only thing that comes to my mind for the mutator to work without appending 'storage/' to it is to set your filesystems config file link (at the very bottom, it's not shown in the video) to:

 'links' => [
        public_path('avatars') => storage_path('app/public/avatars'),
    ],

This way you create the symlink towards tweety.test/avatars folder instead of tweety.test/storage/avatars. I have to admit, I'm still not very familiar with what mutators do behind the scenes, so I'll try to check it out now (e.g. what's the $value attribute we pass to it and what magic happens there).

That being said, I still think your solution is more robust because my explanation only creates a symlink that has a use case for this particular situation. If you'd need to create cover photos tomorrow, you'd need to create another symlink so you can access them from the public/covers folder, which makes no sense. So, default option (linking everything from storage/app/public to public/storage is a better solution, IMHO.
