For me, the process became much easier when I approached it like this:

1. Create a Page called “News”

I started by creating a standard page named News. This gave me a clear entry point for the blog.

2. Create a Collection called “Posts”

After that, I created a Posts collection and mounted it to the News page. This way, the URL structure automatically became /news for the listing and /news/post-title for the individual entries.

3. Understand the File Structure

When I checked the file structure in my editor, I saw a folder named news. Inside, I named the individual files using the headlines of my posts. This helped me stay organized and made it easier to identify each entry.

4. Render the Posts in the Index View

To display the posts on the /news page, I added the following code to the index template:

{{ collection:posts }}
    {{ title }}
{{ /collection:posts }}

This immediately showed a list of all post titles, which made it very clear how the system works and how content is rendered.

This approach helped me understand how Statamic handles collections, mounting, and templating more intuitively.
