This was a pain to figure out because I didn't realize for a long time that I was using the XAMPP VM not regular XAMPP. I wish I could just upload and image but here goes.

Here's how to connect TablePlus to XAMPP VM (Mac): Prep:

Open the XAMPP VM app
Under the "General" tab, copy the IP Address in the app
Start XAMPP VM
Under the "Services" tab, start MySQL (or Start All)
Open the TablePlus app

Connect TablePlus to XAMPP VM:

In TablePlus, Right click -> New -> Connection...
Select MariaDB & SingleStore
Host: 127.0.0.1, Port: 3306, User: root
Click "Over SSH", this will expand the form
Server: The IP address you copied in step 2 above, Port: 22, User: root
Check the box "Use SSH key"
Click the button to the right of the checkbox, it'll open your file explorer
In the file explorer that opened, select this file .bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp/ssh/id_rsa
Save

Create a MySQL Database
