I can't write text twice without a typo :-) so I figured out how to define constants I can use for events. I just wanted to share. It's probably basic PHP but I'm rusty and it took a while to figure out.

First I created App/Livewire/Events.php

{
    public const SEARCH_CLEAR_RESULTS = 'search:clear-results';
    // other events ...
}

Now using it in the livewire classes is straight forward.

 #[On(Events::SEARCH_CLEAR_RESULTS)]
    public function clearSearch(): void
    {
        $this->reset(['results', 'searchText']);
    }

It's a little verbose to use inside a blade file because you have to include the whole namespace

wire:click="dispatch( '{{ \App\Livewire\Events::SEARCH_CLEAR_RESULTS }}' )"

It looks like overkill but you get code assistance from the IDE with this so it's easy to use.

Using Events
