@davy_yg For anyone else struggling with this on Windows, here is how I (after about a full day of struggling) got this to work.

0 . The instructions on redis.io/download assume you are working in Linux. They will not work if you copy-paste them into the command line on Windows 10.

1 . Set up WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) using the instructions here https://redis.com/blog/redis-on-windows-10/

(Ignore the bit where it says this is part I of III. There are no other parts. All Redis documentation is like this for some reason.)

2a . You can follow the rest of the instructions on that page to install an older version of Redis. Make sure you are in Linux when doing this by either launching it from the Microsoft store or running it from the command line (i.e. "ubuntu2004" for Ubunto 20.04). However, this will only install an older version of Redis.

2b . To get an up-to-date version of Redis, follow the instructions under "Install Redis From a Package" on this page: https://www.linode.com/docs/guides/install-redis-ubuntu/ . Again, make sure you are in Linux mode when running these commands.

Note: Redis-cli will work while in "Linux mode" but not from the normal command line. This is not a problem.

3 . Personally, I haven't worked out how to get PhpRedis working yet, so it's easier to just use predis. Just install it using composer with "composer require predis/predis" + "composer dump-autoload". (Normal Windows command line in your project directory).

4 . In "database.php" change "'client' => env('REDIS_CLIENT', 'phpredis')," to "'client' => env('REDIS_CLIENT', 'predis'),". You can alternatively add a line to you .env file setting "REDIS_CLIENT'=predis". You may also want to do a project search for "REDIS_CLIENT" and/or "phpredis", as there seem to have been versions of Laravel where this variable is used more than once.
