@fholet thanks! I don't think you can define it solely on the action class. You can instead define it in a resource policy: https://nova.laravel.com/docs/4.0/actions/registering-actions.html#authorization-via-resource-policy.

I imagine the reason you can't define it on the action is because if you reuse the action across multiple areas, you likely want different authorization for each area. However, you could place the logic in a custom method (let's call it authorize for example) on the action and just defer to that when registering, perhaps using first class callable syntax:
