@lukedowning19 Thanks for your reply. You pointed me in the right direction and I found the issue. I had created policies and used them in controllers. I didn't know this extended to nova as well.

Once I removed it from the auth service provider like so, I was able to edit them in Nova.

     *

        \App\Models\Recipe::class => \App\Policies\RecipePolicy::class,

    ];


    /**
     * Register any authentication / authorization services.
     */
    public function boot(): void
    {
        //
    }
}

So what should I do in this case if I don't want the policies to apply in Nova?
