ristlin left a reply on Two Seemingly Identical Collections, But One Fails Where The Other Does Not

@TYKUS - I did not even know that could happen. Thanks a ton!

ristlin started a new conversation Two Seemingly Identical Collections, But One Fails Where The Other Does Not

I have one collection that I've put together like so:

// First collection
$payment_records = $user->payout_record->merge($user->pay_received_record);

The other sorts that collection.

// Second collection
$sorted_payment_records = $payment_records->sortByDesc('updated_at');

When I dump both, I get what looks to me to be an identical structure: collections with an array of objects. The first collection when passed through to a Vue component can be manipulated with array methods like filter and sort. When I pass the second collection instead, the same array methods fail.

What am I missing?

@CHRISGRIM - I ran into the same problem yesterday and fixed it the same way. The methods that come with Collections are so freaking useful!

ristlin left a reply on Handling A Data Response Object In Vue

@TYKUS - Thank you! It was much easier to solve this by tweaking how I would return the API rather than try and decode the messy object.

ristlin started a new conversation Handling A Data Response Object In Vue

I've been having issues handling the getResponse method in a component that uses a Vue2-Typeahead component. When my API returns a data object containing a single object, I can use the following:

getResponse: function(response) {
    return response.data.map(a => a.name);
}

However, if the data object contains more than one object I run into errors. I think I need to do something like below to correct it. I think the notation is not quite right though. Could I get some pointers? Thanks!

 getResponse: function(response) {
                var array = [];
                var test = response.data;
                forEach(test, array.push(test.name));
        return test;

@THOASTY - I'll take a look, thank you

ristlin left a reply on Setting GetRouteKeyName If A Condition Is Met

@SIANGBOON - It helped, but I'm still not able to get it to work as intended. I will probably have to rethink how I approach it.

ristlin started a new conversation Setting GetRouteKeyName If A Condition Is Met

So I'd only like to set my own route key name if the column is not null (i.e., the user has explicitly set their URL name). I've tried the following, but I can't seem to get it to work. Basically, the conditionals are ignored.

  public function getRouteKeyName()
    {
    // if the user has set a url name, set it as the key name
        if ('link_name' != null) {
            return 'link_name';
        }
    // otherwise, return default
    return 'id';
    }

ristlin left a reply on VueJS Avatar Component

Hey man, I like it, thanks for sharing! Maybe rename the title of this post to something like "Avatar Customization Component." It's quite neat and I like how you can generate the SVG too.

Also welcome recommendations for an alternative error tracker :)

ristlin started a new conversation Having Trouble Upgrading Sentry With Laravel 5.8

When I attempt to require sentry/sentry-laravel I get the following errors:

In OptionsResolver.php line 747:

  The option "user_context" does not exist. Defined options are: "attach_stac
  ktrace", "before_breadcrumb", "before_send", "capture_silenced_errors", "co
  ntext_lines", "default_integrations", "dsn", "enable_compression", "environ
  ment", "error_types", "excluded_exceptions", "http_proxy", "in_app_exclude"
  , "integrations", "logger", "max_breadcrumbs", "max_value_length", "prefixe

Then this one:

Script @php artisan package:discover handling the post-autoload-dump event returned with error code 1

Has anyone been able to install Sentry-Laravel 1.0 on a migrated Laravel app?

ristlin left a reply on Laravel 5.7 Dusk Login Testing Fails With Wrong Credentials

I may not be understanding what you are trying to test, but do you really need the hash check here as well? If the password is correct and they are redirected as a authorized user, then you've validated the browser test yeah?

ristlin left a reply on Login Will Not Log User In Although All Credentials Are Correct.

Look through your logs again after you go through the user registration process and navigating to the page. Also, it may be helpful to get Laravel Debugbar

https://github.com/barryvdh/laravel-debugbar

You can use it to see if your user is still authorized when visiting that page.
