Replied to Custom Field Caching

HI @bugsysha thanks for your reply, yes I and think that's something to do with it as we're deploying to Laravel Vapor and weirdly the only way I've managed to 'bust' the cache consistently each time is add or remove files in the public directory which seems to result in it all being 're-loaded'

Kind of weird workaround but there you go!

Replied to Why Doesn't Laravel Vapor Inject ASSET_URL In My Build Step?

@aligajani I spoke to Mohamed and did a lot of searching to try and find the 'correct' solution but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work.

In app.js I set the value to a const

const windowAssetURL = window.__ASSET_URL__ ? window.__ASSET_URL__ + '/' : '/';

Then just pass that in as a data property to the app and pick it up through a computed property in Vue

assetPath() {
      return this.$root.$data.windowAssetURL;
    },

@fylzero yeah I know I just couldn't get it to work on Vapor

Had the same issue, we ended up passing it in from the env via the app.blade.php

window.__ASSET_URL__ = '{{ env('ASSET_URL') }}';

And then picking that up in app.js. Kind of a clumsy way of doing it.

Replied to Nova Custom Tools

Hi @opilo I think I might be having the same issue as you, changes to my nova-component custom field work on Homestead but when I deploy to Laravel Vapor and it builds I get the old files when I visit Nova on the live site.

Any advice?

Thanks

Started a new Conversation Custom Field Caching

I've created a custom field for Nova, all fine, made some updates and pushed to the server but it's still loading the old JS file.

I've used version() in the mix file, tried npm run dev instead of npm run prod, incognito, another browser, pushed again, all to no avail.

Anyone know how to force Nova to load in the modified version?

Thanks

Replied to Getting Mix To Compile Node_modules File

Thanks for your extended support Bryan, it is appreciated. Must be something going awry somewhere as it still has the issue. I think we'll switch to vue popover and try that.

Replied to Getting Mix To Compile Node_modules File

Thank Bryan that compiled but it's still retaining the const's so I'll just exclude the package for now till I can find a workaround

Sorry Bryan I get Invalid Option: 'ios_saf' is not a valid target

Hi Bryan, thanks for the quick response, will that pick up the const's that have made it into the app.js and convert then?

Thanks

Started a new Conversation Getting Mix To Compile Node_modules File

We're using https://github.com/RobinCK/vue-popper via npm install vue-popperjs --save & import Popper from 'vue-popperjs'; Vue.component('popper',Popper);

This works fine except the dist versions of js that it pulls in uses const instead of var and this breaks on iOS9 Safari which is a key browser for our users.

I'm trying to create something in the webpack that before it gets included in the app.js, the node_modules/vue-popperjs/dist/vue-popper.js gets transpiled over the top of node_modules/vue-popperjs/dist/vue-popper.min.js

I've tried literally everything to get this to work, sometimes it's fine with npm run dev, but then npm run watch gets stuck in a loop and production won't run at all.

Can anyone help? Thanks

Edit: We're deploying a Laravel app via Vapor so I can't modify it locally as it pulls the dependencies each time fresh.
