Replied to Laravel Dusk (php Str_contains) Line Break

Okay. Just out of interest, why?

Replied to Laravel Dusk (php Str_contains) Line Break

What do you mean? I mean of course I replace the URL with the URL of the page I want to test, if that's what you mean

Replied to Laravel Dusk (php Str_contains) Line Break

Hey!

Thanks for the answer! But I'm getting with

$this->get('url')->content()

the entire code of the site. Here I cannot check certain click events. For example, that certain text only appears when I click on sth. Since assertSee() "only" checks if one string is inside another, I removed the HTML tags from the lang file using strip_tags(). However, with <br /> tags it just doesn't work. Links etc. aren't a problem. And I do not know why not.

Started a new Conversation Laravel Dusk (php Str_contains) Line Break

Hey guys,

I have a problem with the assertSee() function. I want to check if a string from a lang file is visible. The problem is that inside this string is a <br />. The string in the lang file looks something like this:

Hello<br />Here is <a href=""> a random</a> link.

So I'm trying to run a check using

->assertSee(strip_tags(__('path/to/lang/context'));

This fails because the string cannot be found. If I take the <br /> from the string, everything works. Since internally nothing else is used than a str_contains('',''), my question is: What exactly do I have to enter that the line break is not recognized as such, so I don't have to enter each paragraph individually in the lang file?

Started a new Conversation Reference Lang In Lang / Functions In Lang Files

Hey, guys,

I have two questions which probably point to one solution:

  1. since my site often uses self-defined terms in texts, I would not like to have to "touch" all files individually if one of these terms changes, but rather change the term centrally. Hence the question: Is it possible that I reference another one in a lang file? For example in the lang>en>nice.php file : "The {{{__('general.newsletter')}}} is nice." which in turn references lang>en>general.php.

  2. Some texts contain links, which I put in the lang files as HTML and then insert them into Blade via {!! !!}. Is it possible to map the hyper reference in the lang files using the route() function?

Best regards, nessor

Replied to Dusk Error When Trying To Update Chrome Driver

That helped before! Thanks! However, now I get errors where there were none before. Also the function of the screenshots seems not to work any more, because the folder is still empty with 17 Errors.

Do you have another tip for this?

Started a new Conversation Dusk Error When Trying To Update Chrome Driver

Hi guys,

i have a problem with Laravel Dusk and PHP 7.4.5 via Xampp (see: https://github.com/laravel/dusk/issues/770#issuecomment-632583219). Unfortunately, what I find a bit sour, Laravel blocked the discussion. Referring to the last post by driesvints, I don't think it's a provider issue. With an older Xampp (PHP 7.3.10) "installation" Dusk works without problems.

Does anyone here have an idea what could be the reason for this?
