Replied to Migrate Error

I did check the mysql extensions. I have the site live on my server so I just used ssh to do it that way instead of doing it from my computer and now it is working fine, thank you.

Started a new Conversation Migrate Error

I'm working on my project in a new install of Laravel because I had to switch computers. Everything was going fine until I tried to migrate a new table. I received the following errors:

"In Connection.php line 664:

could not find driver (SQL: select * from information_schema.tables where table_schema = mydatabasenamehere and table_name = migrations)

In Connector.php line 67:

could not find driver"

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Replied to Route Broken After Creating Controller

Wow, I forgot I added a portfolio folder in public earlier. Thank you, I missed that.

Started a new Conversation Route Broken After Creating Controller

I have a route called /portfolio that was working fine. I needed to create a controller which I meant to call ProjectsController but I accidentally called it PortfolioController. I deleted it after realizing it was a mistake, but now my /portfolio route won't load and I'm getting a 403 error. My other pages are loading fine, and the view that /portfolio was loading works fine with other routes. Here is my route:

Route::get('/portfolio', '[email protected]');

This works fine if I call it anything other that /portfolio. Is there any way to fix this?

Replied to Html Storage

Nevermind, I got it to work by setting the values I wanted to use from within the rules function. Thanks!

Replied to Html Storage

Thanks for your reply, I tried this out but unfortunately I still got a white screen when trying to load the view. When I check the source code it says {{ $company->company_name }} rather than the actual value of the company name.

Replied to Html Storage

I'll have to look more into translations, thank you!

Replied to Html Storage

The one I'm looking at now is 171 lines of html. I think there may be some that are a bit longer but nothing crazy. I think that should be fine to store in the database, right?

So, within the scripts I display things like the user's name or their company name. If I use {{$company->company_name}} right on my view, it works perfectly. However, when I tried to put this into the database, I would only see a blank page when loading up the view. So then I tried {!! $company->company_name !!}, and this got the page to load again but instead of displaying the user's company name, it just displayed "$company->company_name".

Sorry for the confusion in the terminology. When I said scripts above, I am referring to actual scripts that are used by call center representatives. The scripts are used as dialogue for the call center representative. All they contain is html and a little css.

Started a new Conversation Html Storage

I'm looking for the best approach to store html that will be displayed depending on the user logged in. We have Call Center Scripts (coded in html for design purposes) that can change depending on who is logged in so I'm not sure if they should be stored in the database or maybe in some sort of file system.

Originally, I was planning on storing the call center scripts inside of the database but some of the scripts are quite long and I ran into some issues when referencing variables from my controller from within the database i.e. {!! $company->company_name !!}.

If anyone has any ideas of how to best go about solving this it would be greatly appreciated.
