Commented on Databases And Migrations

I've spent hours on this issue, made sure that I have the correct Mysql database, the version, etc. I downloaded Mysql 5.7 because 8.0 has a particular way of using passwords. I've installed Laravel and Valet. I am using Mysql Workbench because Sequel Pro is not supported anymore. No matter what I do in regards to trying to migrate I am unable to. This is the latest error I received:

Illuminate\Database\QueryException : SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) (SQL: select * from information_schema.tables where table_schema = tutorial and table_name = migrations and table_type = 'BASE TABLE')

I am willing to accept that I am a beginner - however, there is no troubleshooting in terms of correcting this possible error. This is very discouraging. Is there any literature (online, webpages, etc) that would provide basic info regarding these particular issues?

Started a new Conversation Unable To Migrate Database

hi

When I tried to migrate my database here is the error message I received:

Illuminate\Database\QueryException : SQLSTATE[HY000] [2054] The server requested authentication method unknown to the client (SQL: select * from information_schema.tables where table_schema = tutorial and table_name = migrations and table_type = 'BASE TABLE')

661| // If an exception occurs when attempting to run a query, we'll format the error 662| // message to include the bindings with SQL, which will make this exception a 663| // lot more helpful to the developer instead of just the database's errors. 664| catch (Exception $e) {

665| throw new QueryException( 666| $query, $this->prepareBindings($bindings), $e 667| ); 668| } 669|

wondering if anyone has any insight?

thanks Anthony

Commented on Sending Data To Your Views

For some reason I am getting this error message and I am baffled since I am doing exactly what the lesson says to do. The error message seems to say there is something wrong with the endforeach. Has anyone experienced this? I made sure to change the info in the return section.

Facade\Ignition\Exceptions\ViewException syntax error, unexpected 'endforeach' (T_ENDFOREACH), expecting end of file

here is my code: @extends('layout')

@section('content')

<h1>my first website</h1>
