Yes

How do I get the relative paths for my assets? Using asset() results in blabla.dev/images/xx.jpg.

Reading at Vagrant, they specify that relative paths should always be used. Link: https://www.vagrantup.com/docs/share/http.html#missing-assets

When I use ngrok to test the site on different computers, etc., all assets from Storage::class are missing.

I am aware of that I can export and import MySQL databases. I was just wondering if anyone had a better methodology for this.

livijn started a new conversation Access "store" In Child Component

Hi,

When using Vuex.store in a component, I can use store.dispatch(). However, when inside a child component I must use this.$store. I would prefer using the same syntax in all components, and store is more readable than this.$store.

Greetings, Fredrik

What is the best way to test your updates with live data?

Should I write a script that exports the whole SQL-file from the production database and then seeds it into the development db? Seems pretty messy.

How do you handle situations like this?

livijn left a reply on Mix In Laravel 5.4 With JQuery Plugins

What is it that distinguishes a modular plugin from a non-modular one?

livijn left a reply on Mix In Laravel 5.4 With JQuery Plugins

The plugin does have a main pointing to its js-file. And the plugin is - as far as I understand - a module.

This is some of the code generated by Laravel Mix: http://pastebin.com/6VhAMjut

This is my app.js: http://pastebin.com/suZCgTX8 It throws an error saying Uncaught ReferenceError: slidebars is not defined.

What do you mean with import jQuery? It is added in the compiled vendor.js since the mix.extract() along with the rest of the packs in that call.

livijn left a reply on Mix In Laravel 5.4 With JQuery Plugins

I have the same problem, but i can't get it to work. All libs are added in the package.json I am using this mix file:

mix
    .js([
        'resources/assets/js/app.js'
    ], 'public/js/app.js')
    .extract([
        'jquery',
        'bootstrap',
        'slidebars',
        'slick-carousel',
        'nouislider'
    ])
    .sass('resources/assets/sass/app.scss', 'public/css/app.css')
    .version();

If I type $('body').hide() in the console, I get $(...).hide is not a function.

Can you show your final webpack.mix.js?

livijn started a new conversation JS Load Order + Mix

I am loading two files (app.js, vendor.js), in which one is dependent on the other.

app.js: http://pastebin.com/suZCgTX8 vendor.js: http://pastebin.com/EDPdVzrE

The files are compiled with Laravel Mix like this:

    mix
      .js([
          'resources/assets/js/vendor.js'
      ], 'public/js/vendor.js')
      .js([
          'resources/assets/js/app.js'
      ], 'public/js/app.js')
      .sass('resources/assets/sass/app.scss', 'public/css/app.css')
      .version();

Here is what vendor.js looks like when compiled: http://pastebin.com/jysGvG4w

I am loading the files in my HTML with the following:

    <script src="{{ mix('/js/vendor.js') }}"></script>
    <script src="{{ mix('/js/app.js') }}"></script>

Even though I load vendor.js containing the slidebars-plugin first, i still get this error Uncaught ReferenceError: slidebars is not defined. It is referencing to the var controller = new slidebars(); in app.js, line 12.

What am I doing wrong?

livijn started a new conversation Laravel Mix Not Properly Loading JQuery?

Hi, I am trying to load my front end dependencies into my HTML site. For some reason, jQuery is never loaded. My vendor.js looks like this when compiled: http://pastebin.com/jysGvG4w and I am using <script src="{{ mix('/js/vendor.js') }}"></script> in the HTML-page.

The jQuery code is actually there (in the compiled vendor.js) - why is it not loading/working?

webpack.mix.js:

mix
    .js([
        'resources/assets/js/vendor.js'
    ], 'public/js/vendor.js')
    .js([
        'resources/assets/js/app.js'
    ], 'public/js/app.js')
    .sass('resources/assets/sass/app.scss', 'public/css/app.css')
    .version();

vendor.js:

require('jquery');
require('bootstrap-sass');
require('slick-carousel');
require('slidebars');
