Jeffrey's Larabits: Ep 49, How To Boost Your Laravel App In Minutes

The Laravel community is so frigging excited about AI coding. It disconcerting. I don't want to miss the bandwagon but it seems antithetical to how I think about the stuff I create. We've spent years discussing the unique art-form of writing code and designing websites. How what we use all depends on our project and on our personal approach to coding. Now it feels like a large chunk of people are thrilled to simply hand that over to Tron. Rather than thinking 'What's the best way to make this code' we're switching to 'Is this created code good enough?' I was very suspicious of NFTs and Crypto, but I was also initially suspicious of mobile phones and MVC. I'm still waiting to see what side of the fence 'Vibe code' lands.

Jeffrey's Larabits: Ep 49, How To Boost Your Laravel App In Minutes

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't care for AI written code? I've been writing php for over 20 years now, I enjoy writing code, I don't want some AI to write crap code and take away the fun.

I was completley against AI in general until a couple of months ago, I've recently started using chatgtp to throw around ideas, but never to write code or anything for me.

I said this at work the other day, but I just can't myself ever having use case, or even a want to use laravel boost or any AI coding tool for that matter.
