kitar left a reply on Preview Markdown Emails

I've got same problem. I'm not sure this (using Illuminate\Mail\Markdown directly) is good idea, but it worked for me.

  • makeMessageHtml() method is similar to Illuminate\Mail\Mailable::buildMarkdownView
  • This sample code expected to use your own message parser, but you can just pass some variables to markdown template.
use App\User;
use App\YourMessageParser;
use Illuminate\Http\Request;
use Illuminate\Mail\Markdown;
use Illuminate\Container\Container;
use App\Http\Controllers\Controller;

class MailsController extends Controller
{
    ...
    public function confirm(Request $request)
    {
        ...
        return view('your.confirm.view', [
            'preview' = $this->makeMessageHtml($user, $message_template)
        ]);
    }

    private function makeMessageHtml(User $user, $message_template)
    {
        $markdown = Container::getInstance()->make(Markdown::class);

        return $markdown->render('your.markdown.template', [
            'message' => YourMessageParser::parse($user, $message_template)
        ]);
    }
    ...
}
