keogh started a new conversation Adding A Simple Pipe() To A Task

Hi Guys, Any idea how I would (Laravel Elixir 6.0.0-10) add a simple pipe() to an existing task?

Do I need to create a full extension, or can I same how hook in to the existing API to say "hey, just add this pipe() to your compilation?

I want to add gulp-sass-glob (https://www.npmjs.com/package/gulp-sass-glob) to my sass() task. As you can see, all I need to do is call pipe(sassGlob()) before my sass compilation, but I can't see easily in the source how to add this? Of course I've tried just changing the CssTask.js with this directly and it works a treat, but of course that is no good.

Any help will be appreciated!

keogh left a reply on Prevent --force On Certain Publishes Tags?

Ahh yeah, that could work! Thanks buddy

keogh started a new conversation Prevent --force On Certain Publishes Tags?

Hey Guys,

My package has several tags to publish, I publish migrations, controllers, models, assets etc etc and while most are fine for the --force flag to be added, certain one I really want/have to prevent.

For example, I have a Core Model that is generated and controlled in my package, but I also create a empty model that extends this that gets published to the users app directory... this one I DO NOT want to ever be forced. Reason being, the user can override/add methods to this model, and if they --force it, it will go back to the old empty model.

So my ServiceProvider has something like:

private function publishModels()
{
    $this->publishes([
        __DIR__."/app/Models/Custom" => app_path("Cms"),
    ], "models");
}

Is there any way to access artisan options in here? So I can simply conditional say "if you are running --force, ignore this"?

Or any other way around this?

Thanks

keogh left a reply on Elasticsearch Or Solr With Laravel?

I hear that @JeffreyWay is moving the forum search over to Elasticsearch in the summer, so maybe the Elasticsearch will get done then... We live in hope :)

Also like to point out that I have successfully integrated Elasticsearch in to the latest Laravel project I have done and it is head and shoulders above Solr. Really was a breeze to use and works beautifully, but definitely would love to see how Jeff goes about it.

So really the subject of this thread is now "Elasticsearch with Laravel"

Hopefully enough interest has been shown in this thread now that Jeff might knock up a video (or series :p) on it some day?

keogh started a new conversation Elasticsearch Or Solr With Laravel?

Hey Jeff,

Ive requested this before, but thought I'd chuck it here too.

Any chance of a video/series on integrating Elasticsearch or Solr with Laravel? We all have to do this at some point, and solarium still makes me want to pull out my hair, must be a easier solution right? And who better to teach us that Mr Way himself!

Anyway, hope you will consider this!

Thanks for all ur great work too, not a day goes by where I don't visit laracasts!
