Replied to Login Throttle - Wrong Http Error

I followed the official documentation: "Install the laravel/ui Composer package and run php artisan ui vue --auth in a fresh Laravel application."

The authorization is working without problem, the problem arise when I try the login throttle. The default value are no more than 5 login attempts in 1 minute, but when I reach that threshold instead of send a https status of 429 (HTTP_TOO_MANY_REQUESTS) the page give back 200 (HTTP_OK).

The sendLockoutResponse function has the following code:

throw ValidationException::withMessages(...)->status(Response::HTTP_TOO_MANY_REQUESTS);

But the status is not that one.

Started a new Conversation Login Throttle - Wrong Http Error

I have just created a brand new project with the auth package.

I added a mock user and I tested the throttle login functionality.

When I reach the limit, the "sendLockoutResponse()" should send back the http status 429 (HTTP_TOO_MANY_REQUESTS) but instead the response is 200.

Is this a bug or I'm missing something in the response flow? What do I have to check?

Started a new Conversation Auth::login() Vs Auth::attempt()

What's the difference between Auth::attempt($credentials) and Auth::login($user)?

I know

  • attempt() check credentials and if they are correct, the user will login

  • login() ...beh login a user :)

At the end if I have a user instance I suppose I already checked his/her credentials previously
