johnny94 left a reply on [L5] Multiple Class Inherit Single Interface

@kfirba Thanks for your reply! I figure out I have misunderstanding in my initial post. And There is another question: is it possible to inject different classes? Like:

interface Weapon {
    public function attack();
}

class Gun implements Weapon {

    public function attack()
    {
        echo ('pew pew..');
    }

}

class Knife implements Weapon {

    public function attack()
    {
        echo ('slash..');
    }

}

class Soldier {
    protected $weapon;
    public function __construct(Weapon $weapon) // Inject Gun or Knife depends on certain condition.
    {
        $this->weapon = $weapon;
    }

    public function attack()
    {
        $this->weapon->attack();
    }
}

Or the only way is setting the weapon manually? (i.e. use a setter)

johnny94 started a new conversation [L5] Multiple Class Inherit Single Interface

I have the following interface and two classes:

interface Weapon {
    public function attack();
}

class Gun implements Weapon{
    public function attack()
    {
        // do something....
    }
}

class Knife implements Weapon{
    public function attack()
    {
        // do something....
    }
}

class User {
    private $job;

    public function __construct($job)
    {
        $this->job = $job;
    }
        public function attack(Weapon $w)
    {
        $w->attack();
    }
}

Is it possible use IoC to bind Weapon based on the $job field? For example:

$u = new User('Thief');
$u->attack(); // Use knife...

$u = new User('Soldier');
$u->attack(); // Use gun...

johnny94 started a new conversation Set Value Of A Custom Field Depend On A Specific Field In Model

I want to set the value of a custom field depend on a specific field in a model. I try to do this in model constructor:

class Book extends Model {

    protected $field;

    public function __construct(array $attributes = array())
    {
        parent::__construct($attributes);
        $this->field = $this->attributes['title'];
        // Do something...
    }
}

But it always get an error which says that the index isn't exist. When I try to get attributes in the model, I found it return a empty array:

class Book extends Model {

    protected $field;

    public function __construct(array $attributes = array())
    {
        parent::__construct($attributes);
        $this->field = $this->getAttributes(); // It is empty !
        // Do something...
    }
}

It's strange to me. Did I miss something? Is there any recommended way to do this?

johnny94 started a new conversation Best Practice For Creating Multiple Step Form

Hi, I am creating a multiple steps form. I store user's input data temporarily and pass it from one step to the next step. Each step is in different view. I use the 'withInput' function to pass data when redirect to next step. Finally, the data will be save to database until user complete the last step.

Although I have done this, my current implementation seems difficult to maintain. Is there any best practice for creating this kind of form in laravel?
