Replied to Vue: Sync Data With Property In A Child Component

Thank you hakhsin I'll take a look to the article as soon as I can, but I'm trying to pass some properties to the child component not only one.

Replied to Vue: Sync Data With Property In A Child Component

Last update: last solution doesn't work 'couse it causes a loop. My finally solution is this:

<script>
    export default {
        props: [prop1, prop2],
    data() {
            return {
                myprop1: '',
                myprop2: ''
            }
        },
        beforeUpdate() {
            if (this.myprop1 == '') {
                this.myprop1 = this.prop1;
                this.myprop2 = this.prop2;
           }
        }
    }
</script>

very ugly: I think I still dont have understood how to use reactivity with vue

Replied to Vue: Sync Data With Property In A Child Component

For everyone who is interested: I found this solution. The second option I proposed does the work but I wrote the wrong event handler.

<script>
    export default {
        props: [prop1, prop2],
        data() {
            return {
                myprop1: '',
                myprop2: ''
            }
        },
        beforeUpdate() {
            this.myprop1 = this.prop1;
            this.myprop2 = this.prop2;
        }
    }
</script>

As I learned so far in the vue lifecycle You have to load data in the created event handler and then you can retrieve the loaded data inside the beforeUpdate event handler also for the children components.

Started a new Conversation Vue: Sync Data With Property In A Child Component

Vue 2.0 I have a child component inside a parent one. From the parent component I pass some value to the child via properties something like this:

<child :prop1="class.prop1" :prop2="class.prop2"></child>

and inside the child component I have something like this:

<script>
    export default {
        props: [prop1, prop2],
        data() {
            return {
                myprop1: '',
                myprop2: ''
            }
        }
    }
</script>

I would like to synk myprop1 and myprop2 with prop1 and prop2 values, change them inside the component and then return back the values to the parent component.

But I cannot sync props with data. Googling around I found these solutions:

<script>
    export default {
        props: [prop1, prop2],
        data() {
            return {
                myprop1: this.prop1,
                myprop2: this.prop2
            }
        }
    }
</script>

and

<script>
    export default {
        props: [prop1, prop2],
        data() {
            return {
                myprop1: '',
                myprop2: ''
            }
        },
        mounted() {
            this.myprop1 = this.prop1;
            this.myprop2 = this.prop2;
        }
    }
</script>

but no one of them seems to work because the properties I pass to the child component have no value at the moment of the creation and are evaluated only later. The only solutions I found is to put a watcher to the properties in which I can initialize the data value but I don't like this solutions couse It doesn't seem to me a best practice Thanks in advance for any suggestion

Started a new Conversation Multisite Authentication

I need to develop a multi site authentication system. There is a central app where I can log in and choose which application to use passing to the choosen app the auth token. All the applications are at the moment stand-alone apps, each one with his own authentication method. Some of those are developed by me someother are from external developers. At the moment I have obtained to store all the app users in a common database table. The authentication system I want to use is a laravel passport system with the token passed via cookie. Each app need to authenticate via a token passed by an external call. Seems I have to build a new guard but it's a little overwhelming for me. Is there any tutorial I may follow?

Replied to Best Practise: Jobs For Very Long Processes

For everyone who wants to know: if you start redis-cli from console and type the command "info" you can retrieve with other parameters the used memory and the total memory available for the redis server in a particular moment. Showing this parameter in different usage situations you cam make an idea of how many jobs your aplication can support

Replied to Best Practise: Jobs For Very Long Processes

I have completely misunderstood how queues work trying to send one job with lots of iteractions instead of lots of jobs one for each iteraction. now it works fine but a question remains: I need to send lots of newsletters and each one has lots of contacts. Each contact's send is personalized. How many sends may I add to my redis queue? How do I know when is too much? Put in other words: is there a way to know how much memory is used by the redis server in a specific moment?

Replied to Best Practise: Jobs For Very Long Processes

Sorry for my late reply, I was out of office. About how long it takes to add such amount of records you are right if you think to add all those records with one insert query but it's not my case. I'm doing a long iteraction with a cospiquos processing for each record. what I want to know is exactly this: how do I set the queues for such long processes and what kind of queues should I use? currently I'm using Redis

What is the best practise if I want to start a job that add 4-5 thousand records each time and takes half an hour each? How do I limit the number of contemporary jobs?

Thanks in advance

By the way I use redis for queueing
