Started a new Conversation NPM Packages In Production, Best Practices ?
Hello all, I have a Laravel+Vue project hosted with Forge. I recently encountered problems with NPM packages when pushing my code to production and I wanted to see if there were any "best practices" on the matter. I have a couple of questions :
For those who have time to read and want more background, here are some details about my situation : I wanted to add real time to my project, so I added the pusher js package in my dev environnement (npm install pusherjs). However when I pushed my code to production, pusher did not work in the front end. So I SSHed into the server and ran "npm install" and "npm run prod". This fixed things up (pusher was now working), except it created a git conflict with the app.js file (created by Laravel Mix). I am way out of my depth there, as I am not exactly sure how this all works under the hood... anyway I had to git reset in production to get out of the conflict, but now I am back to pusher js not working again.
