construct left a reply on Error Messages Output In API

Just curious but, How do you have the route setup? What are you getting in the network tab in the developer console (Make sure you have persist log checked for this)?

construct left a reply on Laravel Eloquent Relationship

You should be able to do the following:

userObject()->blogpost->replies;

It also looks like you will have to loop through it so you may have to do:

foreach(userObject->blogpost as post) {
    print_r(post->replies)
}

not sure how you truly have the user model setup but also:

User::where(user......)->blogpost;

Make sure you are getting data from userObject();

construct started a new conversation Email Verification Via API With 5.7

Please forgive me for my lack of ignorance, but has anyone managed to get the email verification working in an API environment? Currently I have followed what was stated here

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52362927/laravel-email-verification-5-7-using-rest-api

and everything seems to work, however when I click on the "Verify Email Address" I get transferred to my incorrect login API route (By incorrect I mean /api/login instead of /login). I am aware that this has a lot to do with

$this->middleware('auth');

So my question is how do I disable the redirect for /email/verify, or how exactly would I implement the following github repo in to my current project.

https://github.com/iliyaZelenko/laravel5.7-vue-cli3-boilerplate

I don't want to clone this in to my current project and have everything break.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

construct left a reply on Phone Number Format

I do agree with the rest of the post above, however if its of importance I use stuff like..

https://numverify.com/

https://www.twilio.com/lookup

it isn't answering your question since others have already done it, but I think its worth knowing that these will return a fully validated formatted number for you. Anyways, just though I would share a suggestion.

construct started a new conversation Validating A Key In Request When It Exists In Certain Routes.

Is there a correct away to validate a $request->get('key') only when it exists on a certain route being post or get? I was looking at Rules but I am not sure of how to implement it for every route that requires this key.

What I am trying to do is if $request->has('id'), then validate with a custom class.. i.e.

//if this param is passed on post/get on specific routes, check it..
if ($request->has('id')) {

    $isvalid = new IsThisIdInOurDatabase($request->get('id'));

    return $isvalid ? $isvalid : 'error: We could not find this product';
}

construct left a reply on Loading Custom Assets Files

I see, fair enough, inline it is. Thanks :)

construct started a new conversation Loading Custom Assets Files

I am creating a package with the following structure.

Packages -> Package Name -> Vender Name -> src -> js / css

Everything is currently working except that I can't find anywhere how to load custom css/js files. If I write the full path like asset('path/to/js/blah.js'), than this won't be valid once the package is published. Anyone knows how to get this working in dev mode and once published it will a work in production as well?

Thanks.

construct started a new conversation Making Api Calls The Right Way

Please excuse the noob question, but I was wondering. When making a OAuth/CURL call to a service like youtube, vimeo, etc. Would the call me made from the model? or will the logic be inside a controller? I know that db logic should be inside a model but I have always been confused when it comes down to api calls.
