bmcconn started a new conversation Laravel API With Mobile App

Hopefully this makes sense. Let's say I have a mobile app for golfing data. In that app, the user should be able to start a new round, and then enter data about each hole as the round is played. When the round is started the mobile app sends the data to the API, which enters a new round in the database. Now you start to play, and as you enter the data for the first hole, the app should send the data to the API which creates an entry in the pivot table between your rounds and golf holes. My question then , is how does the API know which round the hole belongs to?

My thought is when you create the round, the API would send a response with the round_id, and that would get passed with any request to create a new hole. But what if the user wants to save a round and come back later? Can a mobile app store that kind of data for future use?

Maybe I'm thinking about the entire problem wrong. I'd love to know how those more experienced than me would approach this situation. Thanks for your help.

bmcconn left a reply on Help With FatalErrorException - Class 'App/User' Not Found

Oh jeez, I was afraid it was going to be something like that. Thanks a lot.

bmcconn started a new conversation Help With FatalErrorException - Class 'App/User' Not Found

I have a model called Round (below) that has a one to many relationship with the model User.

<?php

namespace App;

use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Model;

class Round extends Model
{
    /**
     * A round is played by a user.
     *
     * @return \Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Relations\BelongsTo
     */
    public function user() {
        return $this->belongsTo('App/User');
    }

In my RoundsController, I have a show() function attempting to return the user of a particular round.

<?php

namespace App\Http\Controllers;

use App\Round;
use Illuminate\Http\Request;

use App\Http\Requests;

class RoundsController extends Controller
{
    public function show($id)
    {
        return Round::find($id)->user();
    }

When i attempt to do this I get a FatalErrorException - class 'App/User' not found in Model.php

I know this is usually a namespace issue, but all my models are in the 'App' namespace. When I try something like Round::find($id), it works just find. It only seems to break down when I try and use relationships. I've googled around and am struggling to find an answer.

Thanks for the help.
