acatcalledanarchy left a reply on 5.1 Phpunit Tests Fail Without Middleware

Well I'm a total comedy bellend. I was referring Auth::user() within my dashboard page, which doesn't exist when accessed without middleware!

acatcalledanarchy left a reply on 5.1 Phpunit Tests Fail Without Middleware

I'm having exactly the same issue. I'm testing the contents of my admin area. If I do the following all good:

public function testDashboardAccessWithLogin()
    {
        $this->visit('admin/login')
             ->type('name@email.com', 'email')
             ->type('password', 'password')
             ->press('Login')
             ->see('Dashboard');
    }

However, the following fails with 500 error, can anyone please advise me further?

public function testDashboardAccessWithoutMiddleware()
    {
        $this->withoutMiddleware();

        $this->visit('admin')
             ->see('Dashboard');
    }

I case anyone else has a similar issue - I needed to set the correct permissions in GitHub to allow 3rd party access.

acatcalledanarchy left a reply on Laravel 5.1, Homestead, Grouped Resource Routes

Bumping bump. Is anybody out there who can help?

acatcalledanarchy started a new conversation Laravel 5.1, Homestead, Grouped Resource Routes

Hi beautiul Laravel flavoured peoples...

I've had a hunt around and can't see anyone with quite the same issue as I'm having now that I've decided to enter the exhilarating world of testing.

I'm starting off simple.. Here's my routes:

Route::group(['prefix' => 'admin'], function() {

    Route::resource('users',  'Admin\BannerPreviewsController');
]);

Here is my TestCase.php

<?php

class TestCase extends Illuminate\Foundation\Testing\TestCase
{
    /**
     * The base URL to use while testing the application.
     *
     * @var string
     */
    protected $baseUrl = 'http://homestead-url.app';

    /**
     * Creates the application.
     *
     * @return \Illuminate\Foundation\Application
     */
    public function createApplication()
    {
        $app = require __DIR__.'/../bootstrap/app.php';

        $app->make(Illuminate\Contracts\Console\Kernel::class)->bootstrap();

        return $app;
    }
}

and here are is my ExampleTest.php...

<?php

use Illuminate\Foundation\Testing\WithoutMiddleware;
use Illuminate\Support\Str;

class ExampleTest extends TestCase
{
    use WithoutMiddleware;

    public function test_admin_index_page()
    {
        $this->visit('admin/users')
            ->seePageIs('admin/users');
    }

    public function test_user_create_page()
    {
        $this->visit('admin/users/create')
            ->seePageIs('admin/users/create');
    }

The test_users_index_page test passes, however the test_user_create_page fails with. Received status code [500]. However I can access the page locally.

Am I being a proper numpty or can someone give me a gentle push down the hill please?

Thanks for the response Niban, I've added my public key to both GitHub and Forge but I'm still getting the same error. I've tested my key with GitHub and I'm successfully authenticated. Scratchy head time...

acatcalledanarchy started a new conversation That Repository Name Is Invalid.

I'm having difficulty adding a private GitHub repository once I've provisioned server from Digital Ocean. I've tried Refreshing my GitHub token but to no avail.

Would anyone in LaraCastLand have any ideas?
