Started a new Conversation Pass Data To Field.js In Nova

When in a FormField, IndexField or DetailField, we receive the 'field' prop, I'm guessing that under the hood Nova passes this to these components, now I'm wondering, is it possible to receive php values in the fiels.js file?

Replied to Laravel Nova Resource, Combine Fields In Layout?

Thanks for your answer, that still however doesn't allow me to stack input fields next to each other, each Field is still a line on its own..

Replied to Search Package That Includes Multiple Models, Related Models And Pagination?

That is paginating a collection, using a macro, that means if there's 2000 records in the database, it will return 2000 records, without pagination.. Only to paginate on the collection afterwards, which has zero performance benefits, it's only masking the issue.

Started a new Conversation Laravel Nova Resource, Combine Fields In Layout?

I'm using Laravel and Nova, I have a Collection resource which has multiple fields, now when you define the fields for example:

Text::make('Meta 1 Label')->hideFromIndex(),
Text::make('Meta 1 Value')->hideFromIndex(),
Text::make('Meta 2 Label')->hideFromIndex(),
Text::make('Meta 2 Value')->hideFromIndex(),
Text::make('Meta 3 Label')->hideFromIndex(),
Text::make('Meta 3 Value')->hideFromIndex(),
Text::make('Meta 4 Label')->hideFromIndex(),
Text::make('Meta 4 Value')->hideFromIndex(),

Each field will take up one row, in the html.

with

Now I'm wondering if it's possible to have custom layout options (without having to make a full blown custom Tool), so that it's possible for example to group a few text fields in a div.

Pseudo Code

<div class="flex">
    Text::make('Meta 1 Label')->hideFromIndex(),
    Text::make('Meta 1 Value')->hideFromIndex(),
</div>
<div class="flex">
    Text::make('Meta 2 Label')->hideFromIndex(),
    Text::make('Meta 2 Value')->hideFromIndex(),
</div>

Started a new Conversation Search Package That Includes Multiple Models, Related Models And Pagination?

There doesn't seem to be a perfect solution out there for now, Spatie/Searchable doesn't have pagination, Scout doesn't allow looking into related models using the MySQL driver.

What do you use? Is there any good solution (using mysql?)

Replied to Laravel Scout Eager Loading Relationships

This doesn't seem to be working? The callback is ignored, is there anything else that needs to happen to make this work?

Started a new Conversation Using Translation Strings In Laravel Nova?

I'm building a resource tool, but I'm confused as to how to use translation strings in the Vue components. I'm trying the following

<button
    type="button"
    class="btn btn-default btn-primary inline-flex"
    >
      __('Submit')
</button>

I created an en.json file inside my /resources/lang folder of my package, which contains

{
  "Submit": "Submit"
}

But it's not reading the translation. Any ideas?

Started a new Conversation Nova Computed Field Being Ignored

I read in the docs that you can create a computed field, which can use data from the model. https://nova.laravel.com/docs/2.0/resources/fields.html#computed-fields

However this is not working, the field is being ignored, using the following test code

    public function fields(Request $request)
    {
        return [
            Text::make('Name', function () {
                return 'test';
            }),

            ID::make()
                ->sortable()
                ->onlyOnDetail(),
    }

Replied to Using The DateTimeField In Nova?

Hi Bobby, Sorry I didn't form my question properly, I meant in Vue components, I'm building a resource tool from scratch and would like to use that field, including validation.. There's no real documentation on how to use the Vue components that are already included in nova. Thanks!

Replied to Method For Reusing Test Data?

The data providers don't really fit this case, since I'm only using one dataset per test. The method that returns data is the best solution for now, thanks

Started a new Conversation Method For Reusing Test Data?

I have the following tests

public function testReturnsDifferenceInRows()
    {
        $eventDate = factory(EventDate::class)->create([
            'id' => 3,
            'date_from' => Carbon::now(),
            'date_until' => Carbon::now()->addDay(5),
            'time_from' => '08:00',
            'time_until' => '08:00'
        ]);

        $this->assertEquals(6, $eventDate->recurring->count());
    }

    public function testReturnsDifferenceInRowsOverlapUntilTime()
    {
        $eventDate = factory(EventDate::class)->create([
            'id' => 3,
            'date_from' => Carbon::now(),
            'date_until' => Carbon::now()->addDay(5),
            'time_from' => '08:00',
            'time_until' => '02:00'
        ]);

        $this->assertEquals(6, $eventDate->recurring->count());
    }

    public function testReturnsDifferenceInRowsOverlapMidnight()
    {
        $eventDate = factory(EventDate::class)->create([
            'id' => 3,
            'date_from' => Carbon::now(),
            'date_until' => Carbon::now()->addDay(5),
            'time_from' => '23:00',
            'time_until' => '02:00'
        ]);

        $this->assertEquals(6, $eventDate->recurring->count());
    }

As you can see I use almost exactly the same data, the only variables here are the time_from and time_until.

How can I rewrite this as to reuse the other data?

Replied to Modifying A HasMany() To Return A Row For Each Date In A Relation

@johnbraun Sure! a Dates model could have a from='20 July 2019' to='25 july 2019'. so when I query the $event->dates(), it should return 5 rows, because there's 5 days in that row

So I need to modify or build upon the hasMany() to return a row based on the result it gets, I hope that's more clear? Thanks

Started a new Conversation Modifying A HasMany() To Return A Row For Each Date In A Relation

I have an Event model, that has many Dates. A Date has a from and to field, spanning over multiple days.

I would like to have it so that for every day in a Date, my hasmany returns that day. I have no idea how to even get started on this, can someone nudge me in the right direction? Thanks
