Fuxy22 left a reply on Npm Run Watch Gives Error With BrowserSync • 7 months ago

I'll be damned i found the issue.

As pointed out in the docs of webpack Webpack watch i needed to increase the max_user_watches.

sudo touch /etc/sysctl.d/99-sysctl.conf
echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=524288 | sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.d/99-sysctl.conf && sysctl --system

That was one hell of a confusing error.

OS: Arch Linux FS: btrfs

Whenever I run npm run watch using the below browserSync settings:

        proxy: "vuejs.io",
        host: "vuejs.io"

I get the following error:

[Browsersync] Watching files...
      throw er; // Unhandled 'error' event

Error: watch /home/fuxy/Sites/vuejs/app/Console ENOSPC

However it seems to work just fine with npm run watch-poll.

Does anyone have an indea what exactly is causing this issue? I suspect it's probably my non standard fs setup and nodejs or mix doesn't really handle this well but i don't know exactly what.

@Refringe what is the below code for you never posted that file and it prevents the shell script from running .gitlab-ci.sh:

# Install dependencies only for Docker.
[[ ! -e /.dockerinit ]] && exit 0
set -xe

Well yeah if you treat it like any other site install it would work but you need to configure it manually like you did.

Nothing wrong with that setup it's just that you need to update it yourself all the time instead of having docker or the ubuntu package manage do it for you.

I ended up giving up on installing homestead and went with the simplest low load solution I could come up with.

Using the docket phpmyadmin package to connect to homestead.

Just do docker run --name myadmin -d -e PMA_HOST=HOMESTEAD_IP -p 8080:80 phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin replacing HOMESTEAD_IP with the IP or your homestead box.

Then just go to to access it.

Then to stop it you do docker stop myadmin and to start it you do docker start myadmin

See https://hub.docker.com/r/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/ for more info on how to interact with the phpmyadmin docker image.

Fuxy22 left a reply on Connect To Host Machine MySQL From Inside Vagrant Box? • 2 years ago

Create a homestead used with a password of your choice on the host machine go into your .env file and edit the user and password to be indentical to the one you just created and also don't forget to replace localhost with the host's IP address. For a default homestead install that would be I believe.

That should do it.

Have you tried restarting the host machine? if the host updated the kernel it could cause virtualbox to fail in wierd ways. A restart should re load all kernel modules including the virtualbox one and that could fix it.

Anybody else getting an error when installing phpmyadmin on the terminal?

I'm getting:

mysql: [ERROR] mysql: Empty value for 'port' specified.

I'm not sure if it's dbconfig-common or the defaults change in mysql but I'm unable to automate instalation becasuse of it now.
