@webkenny Welcome! I think at this time many people search for tutorials but not read documentation before that. I the same kind of people :) I find out best way first read all documentation and using tutorials for practice but not learning framework. Read docs so boring :) I don`t like it too !

php artisan

error is: Segmentation foult

Codenator81 left a reply on Laravel And Existing Application

@jasonb Normally we do opposite because old app have main code and control routing. So we integrate framework (Symfony) in it. Not seems to be different in Laravel. Just do same thing like:

    $controller = new \App\Controller\CartController();
        $controller->setContainer($kernel->getContainer());
    $controller->checkBill();

in index.php change:

$pi = !empty($_SERVER['PATH_INFO']) ? $_SERVER['PATH_INFO'] : $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];
$piScriptLen = strlen($_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']);
if (substr($pi, 0, $piScriptLen) == $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']) {
    $pi = substr($pi, $piScriptLen);
}
if (!empty($pi) && (in_array(substr($pi, 0, 5), array('/laravel', '/laravel/')) || in_array(substr($pi, 0, 7), array('/admin/admin', '/admin/admin/')))) {
    $request = Request::createFromGlobals();
    $response = $kernel->handle($request);
    $response->send();
    $kernel->terminate($request, $response);
    exit;
} else {
    $kernel->boot();
}

Codenator81 left a reply on Understanding What Version Of Laravel Gets Installed When Version Is Not Specified

@fsdolphin This is nothing to do with Laravel. That is composer version management.
It is because by default in composer.json if you check in your root directory

 "laravel/framework": "5.1.*"

"5.1.*" mean last version in 5.1 branch
if you change to "5.1.0"

 "laravel/framework": "5.1.0"

end run in console

composer update

you will get 5.1.0 exactly.

Codenator81 left a reply on Understanding What Version Of Laravel Gets Installed When Version Is Not Specified

composer create-project laravel/laravel projectName 5.1.0  --no-install

in composer.json change laravel/laravel : "~5.1" to exactly 5.1.0 after that

composer update

should be what you except

Codenator81 left a reply on Understanding What Version Of Laravel Gets Installed When Version Is Not Specified

@fsdolphin Yes in Laravel 5.1.6 only route with view function and Auth controllers.

Codenator81 left a reply on LaraBin.com - It's Live!

@Kryptonit3 Yes it not easy build laravel with snippets inserted but if people provide right patch from root and build it with vagrant box? But this take big server resource. It sapport to be same thing like sandbox which created on request. So you can create subdomain for that like https://snipped.larabin.com. Any way I never build this before :)

Codenator81 left a reply on LaraBin.com - It's Live!

@Kryptonit3 It going to be great if we can run snippets on Laravel installed in browser straight away so same people well see example live

Codenator81 left a reply on Packages Support

@MarkRedeman thanks for link. I hope something similar for Laravel specific became on !

Codenator81 left a reply on Packages Support

@toniperic So there no companies like KnpLabs or Sonata-Project ?
I see for now only Laravel Collective but there only 3 packages

Codenator81 left a reply on Packages Support

@toniperic But how find packages which promising for support? I just need show list of supported packages to manager so he may be decide start project on Laravel 5.1 :) We currently working on Symfony2.

Codenator81 left a reply on Packages Support

My main question is packages support. For med-big apps it is important.

Codenator81 started a new conversation Packages Support

I little confused but as I see often packages not supported. It is Ok when people just play with Laravel and do package for learning purpose. I see there no companies who develop packages and promises their support. I see only same.

So Laravel way build packages in Company internally and open source it for more developers to involve?
If I am wrong please change my mind :)

Codenator81 left a reply on Laravel 5 Front End Editor

@mehany I use Gulp and Grunt when I need in projects. So Laravel devs prefer reinvent wheel and build everything from scratch without reuse code in packages? p.s. Workflow is make code more understandable by team no?

Codenator81 left a reply on Laravel Is A Giant Waste Of Time

5-10 year ago people start from learn language first(PHP for example). After that spend 2-3 year on same popular CMS and after that go to framework. In modern web peoples straight jump to frameworks and just don`t understand for example "new Carbon" is framework function or PHP?, For statistics my brother finish University for Programming 12 year ago and from their class only 4 still programming another 23 not.
