Albyzai started a new conversation Get Auth::user() With Its Associated Profile (1-1)

My use case is that I have to check if the user has a profile when logging in.

IF user has a profile -> Then i will skip the profile creation process.

ELSE -> Let the user create a profile.

I am making my backend as an API because i am using Angular as the front-end framework.

So my first question is if this would be the proper way to do it, or there is a smarter one?

Second is that I have tried using Auth::user()->with('profile') but that returns the whole collection of Users with their profiles, rather than the single authenticated user.

Albyzai started a new conversation Guzzle Post Request Returning 'Unauthorized' PP OAuth2

I am following the Laravel 5.7 Documentation for OAuth2 implementation, but i'm getting the following error when making a most request with GuzzleClient:

Client error: POST http://rankup.dinmor/oauth/token resulted in a 401 Unauthorized response: {"error":"invalid_credentials","message":"The user credentials were incorrect."}

I am hosting my laravel app on xampp.

    $http = new Client();

    $response = $http->post('http://rankup.dinmor/oauth/token', [
      'form_params' => [
        'grant_type' => 'password',
        'client_id' => '2',
        'client_secret' => '5n053udMlMksA1AyVmLUxoxTVr2Algnm4aTRjkQk',
        'username' => $request->email,
        'password' => $request->password,
        'scope' => '',

    return json_decode((string) $response->getBody(), true);

Does anyone have experience with this? I've googled a bit around and seen other people with the same issue, but haven't really found a working solution.

Albyzai started a new conversation React Component Sepcific Styling

I am using React with Laravel and I am looking for a way to write component specific scss.

What i am envisioning is the following project structure:

In this directory i will have diferent folders for each component, lets use a Login component as an example:

Login -Login.js -Login.scss

I need a way to for laravel mix to go through all directories in the components directory and look for sass files and compile them into either seperate css files or together in one big css file.

I am not sure if this is even a good approach, so if you have better ideas, please let me know. But what i am essentially trying to achieve is seperation of components, so everything related to the Login component can be found in components/Login and so on.

Albyzai left a reply on Problem Installing Larval With Composer

@AURAWINDSURFING - Can you elaborate on what I am mixing up?

I installed composer through HomeBrew, I can see that it has not been added to my PATH, but I can still use it just by writing 'composer' in the terminal - I am still trying to figure out how exactly this is possible.

I am aware of the different methods to create a react project, and have tried them both - but with the same result.

Albyzai started a new conversation Problem Installing Larval With Composer

I seem to have a problem requiring laravel/laravel with composer. I get no error messages, it just does nothing, except changing directory. Has anyone tried anything like it before? I thought it could have something to do with the configuration of my computer, so I just completely reinstalled MacOS, but the problem prevails.

Here is a screenshot of my terminal:

Albyzai started a new conversation How Do I Update A Database Entry From Button Click In Laravel?

Hi everyone!

So i just got into Laravel yesterday, and am still having a quite hard time understanding how everything works, but i think i've got the hang of some of the basics.

My website is supposed to resemble a lot in functionality. I have a database table of 'dilemmas' with the following cols: 'blue_question', 'red_question', 'blue_votes', 'red_votes'. What i am struggling to achieve, is getting the votes to count up once a button is clicked.

I understand the SQL and i understand how to make something happen when the button is clicked, i just do not comprehend how to make the bridge between them.

This is my current .click function for the buttons:

However, i am of the understanding that you cannot process SQL queries with jquery, but you have to use ajax? I want to achieve the database update without the page refreshing.

Hope you can help!
