Socialize 500 Error

Published 2 months ago by Francesco331

Hello, I'm trying to fix a facebook login in my website and everything seems ok but it doesn't work. I did everything in Laravel.com guide. The problem is that when I run \Socialize::with("facebook")->user(); i got error 500 failed to load resource.

Can someone help me? Thank you.

Hi FRANCESCO331,

It would be helpful if you could provide more detail to allow someone to be able to answer your question. Please check out Laracasts Posting Guidelines which details what makes a good post and the sort of information needed to be able to help answer you.

What have you done so far? Have you checked out the Laravel.log file and your web servers error logs for the error details? If you can't figure out the issue based on the errors, clear both files, rerun it so you get the same issue and then paste the log files here.

Hi neilherbertuk,

I use the same method for google + login and it works good. Everything is set well, I'm sure because few months ago it worked. The only thing is that when I run on the method "\Socialize::with("facebook")->user();" break the method and get a 500 error "Failed to load resource".

This is the error in Laravel.log

[2017-09-14 19:39:04] prod.ERROR: exception 'GuzzleHttp\Exception\ClientException' with message 'Client error: GET https://graph.facebook.com/v2.6/me?access_token=&appsecret_proof=f31ed572e25a37b5318110bdcd289b5454bc37553618a25cfb62906fa47b1462&fields=name,email,gender,verified resulted in a 400 Bad Request response: {"error":{"message":"An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.","type":"OAuthExce (truncated...) ' in /home/harbourspot/laravel/vendor/guzzlehttp/guzzle/src/Exception/RequestException.php:107

How can I put there the access_token?

FRANCESCO331 please edit your post above, it looks like you've included an API key in your log entry. Can you confirm what package you are using? Are you using Laravel's Socialite or nanuly/socialize or something else?
