Homestead command not found

Published 3 years ago by samsoft

Please, just install homestead on window, after restarting my window... i type homestead but command not found. I've included on ~.bashrc and ~.bash_profile

export PATH=~/.composer/vendor/bin:$PATH

Please help!

Is the homestead command installed? Can you "ls" that folder and see if it is there. If not you will need to install it.

Add the line export PATH=~/.composer/vendor/bin:$PATH

Actually if you follow the current Homestead installation instructions, there is no mention of "homestead commands". It's back to basics with "vagrant commands".

I don't know why they haven't included it, makes much more sense to stick with homestead up and homestead provision for example. Anyway, once you have added composer to your $PATH, check that homestead is present. If it isn't, then run:

composer global require "laravel/homestead=~2.0"

And then you can check again cd ~/.composer/vendor/bin; ls -a; and you should see the following:

homestead -> ../laravel/homestead/homestead
laravel -> ../laravel/installer/laravel

Now you'll be able to run the homestead commands.

What i did . First ssh into homestead

vagrant ssh

require Laravel globally

composer global require "laravel/installer"

then add it to path

export PATH=~/.composer/vendor/bin:$PATH
