Replied to Email Body Empty That Is Sent With Laravel
Does anybody have any ideas as to why this might be happening?
Started a new Conversation Email Body Empty That Is Sent With Laravel
When I am sending email with Laravel using
Mail::send() function, the body of the email that I receive is empty when running it on production, but when I run it on localhost, it seems to work fine.
I've tried both the emails with and without queue, all have the same behaviour? Is there telltale sign of what might be causing this behaviour?
Replied to Laravel Doesn't Send Content Of Mail Somehow
Yes, I re-started the queue, but still the same.
I wonder why it would be issue with queues when the emails are being sent successfully, it is just that the content is empty.

I am having the most weird issue with mails. I have the same code between staging server and localhost for the backend API for
contactus which is supposed to send an email about about people who use "Contact Us" service. In the localhost, when I make the API call, it is faithfully sending the contents of the message and I am able to see it in the email. However, if I make the same request but just change the server from localhost to staging, the mail still goes through, but I am unable to see the contents of the email.
I tried that with MailHog, Google SMTP, Mailtrap. All of those have the same issue. I made sure quite a few times that the code between the staging and localhost is the same and it in fact is the same.
I have a hunch that there is some differences in the PHP version or PHP configuration, but I am unsure as to where I should look. Any ideas?
FYI. I have a function like this which sends the email:
Mail::to("[email protected]")->send(new ContactUsNotification($data));
Replied to Understanding Eloquent's Magic Functions
Thanks for your prompt response Tray. Where would these policies reside usually? And how might these policies or middleware be injected into a model?

In a code that I have inherited from another programmer there is a following statement
... $query->can('read') ...
I am not able to find anywhere where the
can method is defined, except in the docstring for that particular Eloquent model where has the following line.
/** * ... * @method static Builder|Video can($perm) * ... */
