stephen.talari left a reply on Event Listeners Vs. Jobs

I tried to include this in Listener use App\Http\Controllers\Controller and call this->dispatch($job) It worked!

Is Jeffrey answer different from this ? (i don't have access to lessons :-( )

stephen.talari left a reply on Dispatch A Job From Event Listener

Simply included use App\Http\Controllers\Controller; in Listener and called $this->dispatch($job); Most confusing is around Queues and Events, read related threads.

stephen.talari started a new conversation Dispatch A Job From Event Listener

From controller, i am able to dispatch the job using

$job = new \App\Jobs\MyJob($data);
$this->dispatch($job);

later i have put events and listners, and i want to dispatch the same job from listener, but it fails when i use dispatch method

How to call/dispatch a job from listner ?

stephen.talari left a reply on Load Middleware Specific To A Function

Made use of 'except' and 'only'

stephen.talari started a new conversation Load Middleware Specific To A Function

How to load a middleware specific to a function instead of loading it in controller contructor? Following code doesn't throw error but 'auth' is not applied

public function someFunction() {
        $this->middleware('auth');
      }

stephen.talari left a reply on Get Previous URL Including Hash Tags

Simple Paginate due to UI limitations in our design. will give a try with cookies or passing page number to edit form.

stephen.talari left a reply on Get Previous URL Including Hash Tags

@RomainLanz This isn't a SPA, but still i wanted to return to previous page. For instance, if user is traversing all 'tasks', updated some task in 9th page, i wanted to return him to 9th page again. else he has to visit 9 pages again (im using simple paginate).

@JoeDawson We can not redirect based on task id, i wanted to return to previous "page"

stephen.talari left a reply on Get Previous URL Including Hash Tags

So when editing a particular record, sending the current page will be helpful ? Any better suggestions ?

stephen.talari started a new conversation Get Previous URL Including Hash Tags

In my application, user has a list of records which are paginated with ajax (using hashes Ex: for 4th page, it is http://example.com/tasks#4 ) . After editing and updating a particular record in page '4', i wanted the user to return back to previous page which is http://example.com/tasks#4

How do i do this?

tried both UrlGenerator::previous() and back() helpers, but they are excluding hashes.

@pmall How to get previous URL with Hash? \Illuminate\Routing\UrlGenerator::previous() doesn't return the Hash tags.

stephen.talari left a reply on How To Paginate Eloquent HasMany Relation?

It worked perfectly. Thank you

stephen.talari started a new conversation How To Paginate Eloquent HasMany Relation?

i have 'user' and 'sites' table with hasMany relation

User Model looks as

public function sites() {
        return $this->hasMany(Sites::class, 'user_id', 'id');
    }

Sites Model looks as

public function user() {
        return $this->belongsTo(User::class,'user_id','id');
    }

In my controller, i tried to get all sites of a user and it works fine.

User::find(122)->sites

Now, how can i make this paginate ?

User::find(122)->sites->paginate() is failing.
