I working on a project that involves fetching a user's tweets from Twitter. I have all this logic working so the user can fetch them (
TweetFetchController) but I want to setup an Artisan command so they can run
php artisan tweets:fetch.
When I run
addNewTweets from the command, it throws an error, which you would expect:
Non-static method TweetFetchController::addNewTweets() should not be called statically.
My question is, should I just change all the methods in the controller to be static (and what are the disadvantages of this) or is there a better way to access the controller methods from the command?
I'm looking to use this tweet parser package (https://github.com/nojimage/twitter-text-php). It's hasn't been updated to use namespaces so I'm not sure of the best way to include it.
What's the best practices for this kind of thing?
