can you show me some code? I'm still not understanding what you mean by "documents"

maximus1127 left a reply on Require NPM Package Not Found

ok. am I doing things the right way? I am supposed to import packages into resources/assets/app.js correct? And I see many different ways to do this. The default has "require('./bootstrap')" and "window.Vue = require('vue')". Which way is correct for me to get the file system packages that I need? Then how do i access it in the blade view?

maximus1127 started a new conversation Require NPM Package Not Found

I have a project that I'm trying to use a file system module in. I've "npm installed" 3 - fs, fs-extra, graceful-fs. I go into my resources/assets/app.js and add "require('fs')" to it (or any of the other two modules from my node_modules folder) and when i go to my console and run "npm run dev", it never recognizes the packages, thus I can't use the features. This is my first time trying to use NPM in laravel. Can someone help me know how to import and use these features. I have a pretty simple app so all of my javascript is in the footer of a blade view. It's so basic that I didn't even set it to a different file. But now I'm wanting to create a small text file in the project directory that I can save a very minimal amount of data to and then read later to make some programmatic decisions.

maximus1127 left a reply on Multiple Sites Link To One Sign Up Form, How To Track Where User Came From In Laravel?

ok i see. and the value would be what ever I assign in the url as mentioned by cronix's answer?

www.yoursite.com/signup?company=companyA

then add your suggestion

input type="hidden" name="refereed_by" value="company"

does this look correct?

maximus1127 left a reply on Multiple Sites Link To One Sign Up Form, How To Track Where User Came From In Laravel?

at what point do i "grab the company"? where would that go in my code? i'm assuming that goes in a route. Would it be something like

Route::get('/company/{id}/signup');

then in the controller do

public function signup ($id) { $company = $request->query('company'); return view('signupform'); }

But then how would i pass that 'id' variable in if i'm not assigning its value until after the function is run?

maximus1127 started a new conversation Multiple Sites Link To One Sign Up Form, How To Track Where User Came From In Laravel?

I have this web service that I'm trying to offer to multiple businesses of the same genre. They are all individual businesses not affiliated with each other but they can all use one database for submitting info. I basically want to put a link on each separate website that these businesses already have that will point a user to a generic login form that will dump their info into my database and track which company they came from. So if a user goes to Company A and clicks "sign up", i want it to take them to the sign up form but on the back end I'll know to put Company A's credentials with the user affiliation. Likewise if they went to Company B, i'd associate them with Company B. I don't know how to go about doing this in Laravel. Can i generate a custom URL for each company? if so, how do i do that so that i can track the company info? Side note: every company who uses this would also have a company profile with all their info already in my system. Could i create a database column for "company URL" and throw an if statement saying "if url==company A, do 'this'"? I just need a good direction to start in. thanks in advance.
