labanino started a new conversation Form Is Not Showing Bootstrap Classes

I am using "laravelcollective/html":"^5.4.0" and my form is working fine but I have this issue only with the btn bootstrap class, it is not showing at all, but labels, text and textarea are.

{!! ... {{ Form::submit('Create Post', null, array('class' => 'btn btn-success btn-lg btn-block')) }} ... !!}

I am using Laravel 5.4.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

labanino left a reply on Adding Class .active To Current Link In Laravel 5.2

I just found a greate package from Dwight Watson called Active: https://packagist.org/packages/watson/active

You only need to run the package through Composer and add the service provider in your config/app.php file.

For the html you do something like this:

<div class="collapse navbar-collapse navbarCollapse">
        <ul class="nav navbar-nav">
            <li class="{{ active('blogs.index') }}">
                <a href="{{ route('blogs.index') }}">Blogs</a>
            </li>
            <li class="{{ active(['blogs.create', 'blogs/*']) }}">
                <a href="{{ route('blogs.create') }}">Create</a>
            </li>
        </ul>
        <ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right">
            <!-- Authentication Links -->
            @if (Auth::guest())
                <li class="{{ active('login') }}">
                    <a href="{{ url('/login') }}"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-log-in" aria-hidden="true"></span> Login</a>
                </li>
                <li class="{{ active('register') }}">
                    <a href="{{ url('/register') }}"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-user" aria-hidden="true"></span> Register</a>
                </li>
            @else
                <li><a href="{{ url('/logout') }}"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-log-out" aria-hidden="true"></span> Logout</a><li>
                <li><a href="#">Welcome {{ Auth::user()->name }}</a></li>
            @endif
        </ul>
    </div>

helpers.php? Sorry, which one?

labanino left a reply on Adding Class .active To Current Link In Laravel 5.2

I tried:

<li class="{{ Request::path() == 'blogs/create' ? 'active' : '' }}">
    <a href="{{ route('blogs.create') }}">Create</a>
</li>

and works fine with /blogs/create but if I go to blogs/1 it doesn't get the class .active.

labanino started a new conversation Adding Class .active To Current Link In Laravel 5.2

This is my html:

<nav class="navbar navbar-default navbar-fixed-top" role="navigation">
  <div class="container">
    <div class="navbar-header">
      <a class="navbar-brand" href="#">My Blog Site</a>
    </div>

    <div class="collapse navbar-collapse navbarCollapse">
        <ul class="nav navbar-nav">
            <li class="active"><a href="{{ route('blogs.index') }}">Blogs</a></li>
            <li><a href="{{ route('blogs.create') }}">Create</a></li>
        </ul>
    </div>
  </div>
</nav>

I have the bootstrap.min.js but the active link it is not working. Then I tried to do the trick with jquery:

$(document).ready(function() {
      $(".nav a").on("click", function(){
      $(".nav").find(".active").removeClass("active");
      $(this).parent().addClass("active");
   });
});

but when I click the class .active is added but then it goes away. The jquery works, I'm not sure if in Laravel is done different. Thanks.

labanino left a reply on JS Missing In Laravele 5.2 Installation

I was already running

gulp watch

CTRL + C and run it again made the trick. Thanks.

labanino started a new conversation JS Missing In Laravele 5.2 Installation

By default Laravel 5.2 installation comes with:

resources/assets/sass/app.scss

Now I need a .js file to put the javascript stuff. I don't see it in resources/assets/. Do I need to created manually?

Also, in my gulpfile.js I wrote:

elixir(function(mix) {
    mix.scripts(['app.js'], 'public/js/app.js');
});

and I see nothing in

public/js/app.js

I used composer to install Laravel.

Warning: Newbie here! Thanks.

Cool. Thank you very much!

labanino left a reply on "web" Middleware Group

So, this:

['middleware' => 'web', 'something']

and

['middleware' => ['web', 'something']]

work the same then?

labanino left a reply on "web" Middleware Group

Cool! So, then I would do:

Route::get('/', ['middleware' => ['web', 'something'], function () {...}

Right?

labanino started a new conversation "web" Middleware Group

Hi! By default the installation of Laravel 5.2 comes with this "web" middleware group:

Route::group(['middleware' => ['web']], function () {...}

but then when I run

php artisan make:auth

it created a new "web" middleware group and it doesn't has 'web' in square brackets:

Route::group(['middleware' => 'web'], function ()

I moved all routes into the new middleware group and deleted the old one and got no errors but I wonder about ['web'] and 'web'. Does it makes any difference? Thanks.

Had a hard time installing the HtmlServiceProvider because I was getting the:

Class 'Illuminate\Html\HtmlServiceProvider' not found

I did this way but didn't work: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28541051/class-illuminate-html-htmlserviceprovider-not-found-laravel-5

Finally it worked with : https://laravelcollective.com/docs/5.2/html#installation

Why the collective? Thanks.

labanino started a new conversation Creating A Master View

Guys I have a question! I was having issues with my css, my index looked fine but the rest of the pages weren't pulling the app.css.

After searching this fixed my issue:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="{{ asset('css/app.css') }}">

My question is, what is 'asset', where is it coming from? Thanks.

labanino started a new conversation .env DB_USERNAME And DB_PASSWORD

I'm playing around with Laravel 5.2 and I tried to login into mysql ($ mysql -uhomestead -psecret) and I got:

ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'homestead'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Then I tried: $ mysql -uroot, and it worked.

Why is not taking the user and pass in the .env? Thanks.

Trying Laravel Homestead for the first time and it works great but there is only one thing, is sucking the hell out of my RAM. So, maybe if I turn Xdebug off and use the Chrome extension I get rid of this issue. Any advise? Thanks.
