gsa left a reply on How To Configure IncludePaths For SASS On Mix?

the current syntax for @Eltrain 's answer is

use: {
    loader: 'css-loader!sass-loader',
    options: {
        includePaths: ['resources/assets/sass', 'node_modules/foundation-sites/scss']
    }
}

which would go in the webpack.config.js file that you copy from the directory referenced in package.json into your project root directory.

I found this syntax here https://github.com/webpack-contrib/sass-loader

gsa left a reply on [VueJs] How To Clean Up This Code?

I know this was a long time ago now but I like the question and no one else replied, so here's some notes that you can take or leave.

  1. var _this = this; I prefer to explicity bind this using .bind like (function() { this.prop = 'hi'; }).bind(this) (supported in all browsers that support Vue)
  2. method fire might be more flexibly used as an event. This would enable the alert firing code to have no awareness of the component(s) that react to the alert event. I generally prefer events for communication between elements because of looser coupling.
  3. return _this.redirect(redirect); consider differentiating the redirect method from the redirect url via better naming. Maybe leave the method with the same name and give the url a name like redirectUrl to indicate that it's a noun rather than a verb.
  4. Naming your function expressions can offer a lot of clarity as to what's going on. I.E. fadeIn(function() -> fadeIn(function showAndHideAlert() ( the redirect in the callback might be fired independently of this to help clean up the intent of the function )

If you're interested in writing the best javascript and generally clean code possible, I highly reccomend the "You Don't Know JS" book series and "Clean Code" by Uncle Bob which heavily influences some of the screencasts here.

gsa left a reply on Cannot Add Foreign Key Constraint

I had this same problem and did not use unassigned() or unsigned() for that matter.

Here's the solution that worked for me. Seems like a buggy bug.

Add the constraint in a second step:

` public function up() { Schema::create('priorities', function($table) { $table->increments('id', true); $table->integer('user_id')->unsigned(); $table->string('priority_name'); $table->smallInteger('rank'); $table->text('class'); $table->timestamps('timecreated'); });

Schema::table('priorities', function($table) { $table->foreign('user_id')->references('id')->on('users'); });

} `
