giopetris left a reply on Design Problem Mutators

Thanks to your repply @bobbybouwmann , but I don't like of put it in my controller, so, I overwrite the all() method of the FormRequest, something like that:

class MyRequest extends Request {
...

public function all()
    {
        $request = parent::all();

        $request['value'] = 'My value here';

        return $request;
    }
}

giopetris started a new conversation Design Problem Mutators

Hello everyone,

In my models I'm using mutator to remove the mask of a field that comes from a form. Somenthing like that:

public function setValueAttribute($value) { $moneyDataTransformer = new MoneyDataTransformer();

$this->attributes['value'] = $moneyDataTransformer->reverseTransform($value); // the mask is removed here

}

The problem is that this method is always used when I set the value, but I only want remove the mask when it comes from a form request. How you make that? You change the value of the request in the controller?

giopetris left a reply on Design Problem With Accessor And Mutators

Hello everyone,

Thanks so much! I will use the view presenters, it's what I was searching (:

So, my forms will look like:

{!! Form::text(
            'value',
            $order->present()->value
        ) !!}

So I won't to use the accessor in my model. Buut, I still need the mutators at my model, something like:

public function setValueAttribute($value)
{
    $moneyDataTransformer = new MoneyDataTransformer();

    $this->attributes['value'] = $moneyDataTransformer->reverseTransform($value); // the mask is reverted here
}

I don't like this mutator, because it's only applied when I need change the value when it comes of a form, any suggestion?

(:

giopetris started a new conversation Design Problem With Accessor And Mutators

Hello everyone,

I'm using accessors to change the value when the same is filled in the form.

Example:

public function getValueAttribute()
{
    $moneyDataTransformer = new MoneyDataTransformer();

    return $moneyDataTransformer->transform($this->attributes['value']); // The mask is applied here, example: $ 44.21
}

The problem is, when I want the value without the mask, I should revert the mask in everywhere //: I already think in make a method at my model like "getValuePure()" (FOR EXAMPLE)

My question is, someone has the same problem? How do you make that?

Sorry for my english (:
