Replied to How To Add Cache Control Header To CORS Response

Thanks Rodrigo,

that option changes only the Access-Control-Max-Age header. But the cache-control stays the same, no-cache, private.

What I want is to change the cache-control header so Cloud Flare can cache it and minimize the number of OPTIONS requests that get to my application.

Started a new Conversation How To Add Cache Control Header To CORS Response

Is it possible to add a cache-control header to a cors request?

I tried it but it only adds it to GET requests:

// app/Providers/RouteServiceProvider.php
...
protected function mapApiRoutes()
    {
        Route::prefix('api')
            ->middleware('api')
            ->middleware('cache.headers:public;max_age=3600') <== add cache header
            ->namespace($this->namespace)
            ->group(base_path('routes/api.php'));
    }

Started a new Conversation Ways To Optimize CORS Handshake/preflight Request

Hi,

Does anyone have any tips on how I could make the preflight/options request faster when receiving a CORS request?

As you can see below, sometimes that initial request takes way too long and it's impacting my frontend.

In this case, the preflight/OPTIONS request took 922ms VS 209ms for the POST one. Sometimes my post returns in less than 100ms but the cors is always taking 200ms+.
